• Ousmane Dembele – the Frenchman had his best season ever in 2024/25. Finally, fans and haters of his were able to see why he was worth so much money. With the departure of Kylian Mbappe and en route to another Ligue 1 win and a deep Champions League run, Ousmane Dembele became PSG’s leader. In 42 games, the winger scored 32 goals and made 11 assists, displaying a Ballon d’Or level of play.

 

• Julian Alvarez – many were surprised that Atletico Madrid bought the young Argentinian for €75.00m. However, this season they got their money’s worth. Julian Alvarez became the primary attacking force in Atleti’s squad. In the first 48 matches across all competitions, he netted an impressive 26 goals. Because Diego Simeone’s schemes don’t always rely on attack too much, 26 goals in 48 games is nothing short of impressive.

 

• Harry Kane – the Englishman has been the most prolific striker at every team he’s played in. His stint at Bayern is no exception, with the former Hotspur delivering amazing performance after amazing performance. He scored 13 goals in the Champions League and leads the Bundesliga charts as well. He’s always one of the favourites for the Golden Boot.

 

• Cole Palmer – the young Chelsea talent has shown flashes of greatness both at his club and in the National team, too. If his team can make a deep run, Cole Palmer will have the excellent setup to win this prize. In 2024/2025, the young talent had 14 goals and 9 assists in 38 matches.

 

• Lautaro Martinez – in the past years, Lautaro has been the most consistent striker in the Serie A. Inter Milan’s star frontman racked 21 goals and 6 assists in 43 outings, which is not too shabby, considering his team likes to play a defensive, more conservative style of football.

 

• Dusan Vlahovic – with 14 goals in 37 matches, Dusan Vlahovic might not be everyone’s first pick for ‘Golden Boot’. However, Juventus has a shortage of offensive power and a lot lies on the Serbian’s shoulders. Maybe he can deliver?

 

• Kylian Mbappe – even though he started the season slowly, Kylian Mbappe quickly adapted and is amongst the La Liga leaders in scoring. Real has plenty of weapons in its squad, but Mbappe is probably the most dangerous one.

 

• Vinicius Jr. – lots of people believed that Vinicius Jr. should’ve won the Ballon d’Or over Rodri. However, after being snubbed, the Brazilian’s performance fell off a bit compared to his early-season form. Maybe the FIFA Club World Cup is a chance at redemption?

 

• José Manuel López – Palmeiras striker had plenty of goals in the 2023/24 campaign. He is the squad’s primary threat on the attack, so if they have success in the tournament, Jose Manuel Lopez could be a candidate for the Golden Boot.

 

• Vangelis Pavlidis – Benfica’s explosive Greek is consistently delivering goals and assists in Liga Portugal. His 7 goals in the Champions League of 24/25 show that he isn’t afraid of big moments, making Pavlidis a long-shot candidate for the prize.

 

• Jhon Arias – Fluminense’s player has been in good form these past two years. Although a lot depends on his team, maybe he can surprise us all?

 

• Aleksandar Mitrovic – if there’s one thing Mitrovic can do, that’s scoring in high volumes. Just get him the ball and he will do the rest.
