Launching in late 2026, the Nations Championship is a new bi-annual tournament unifying the global rugby calendar outside of World Cup years. It features 12 elite teams: the Six Nations (England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Wales), the Rugby Championship sides (New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Argentina), plus Fiji and Japan.
