Marisha Kazaryan

I was a storyteller for as long as I can remember myself. Inventing stories, characters, and worlds was something that came naturally. After completing my degree in English language and literature I worked as a translator and interpreter for quite some time, but to nobody’s surprise one day I turned my career in a different direction and became a writer. Things that make my day a win (besides a good story, of course): animals, good coffee, good music, good films, and the scent of the sea in the sunshine.

Writing Approach

A mantra I live by is “Everything is a story, you’re here to make its voice heard”. This is how I approach every writing assignment. Writing for sports and iGaming, I also think of finding the balance that will make my articles valuable for newbies and experts alike.

How Do You Stay Up to Date?

There are a lot of resources online that help you stay on top of things: from the official websites of horse racing and football league authorities to the largest sports news providers. In addition to that, it always pays off to follow credible forums and communities, especially when it comes to iGaming.

Education & Languages

  • I hold a Master’s degree in English language and literature, as well as certificates in filmmaking and music video making.
  • I speak fluent English, Russian, Georgian, Armenian, and Hindi, decent German, and currently study Korean and Italian.

Introducing: Triathlon Individual & Triathlon Relay Olympics 2024

What combines three seemingly unrelated sports of swimming, running, and cycling? It may seem like they have nothing in common but actually, there is a sport that combines all three, putting an emphasis on endurance, speed, and strength. Welcome to triathlon.   Triathlon may consist of sport activities with a well-established history (though, of course, cycling is much younger than its other two counterparts), but as a sport of its own, it is still pretty young.  Having athletes compete in three different sports isn’t exactly a new concept. In fact, even the Ancient Olympic Games included an event where athletes had to...

Skateboard Olympics 2024: From History to Current Results

When the ancient Greeks gathered every four years to participate in athletic games, could they ever imagine that many centuries later people would carry on the tradition? The Olympic Games became one of the most popular and long-standing sport events in the world. And though the main idea behind the tournament remained the same, the Games kept evolving throughout the time, with rules, venues, and even participating sports changing.  The number of sports that were played in the arena in Ancient Greece was far lower than what the modern spectators can enjoy. The sports ancient Greek athletes competed in included...

Hockey Olympic Qualifiers 2024: Teams Who Made It

One of the many games from the hockey family, field hockey is played on an open ground with a hockey ball and hockey sticks. In many countries it is simply referred to as hockey, while in others, where ice hockey is more widely spread, it is known by its full name of field hockey. The two teams that are involved in the game both consist of eleven members: ten field players and one goalkeeper.  Initially, the game was developed to become a part of the public school curriculum in 19th century England. Later it was spread around the world and...

A Comprehensive Guide to British Olympic Swimming Trials 2024

Participation in the Olympic Games is one of the biggest honours for athletes who compete in the sports that are part of the Olympic programme. Understandably, any active athlete would want to be on the team representing their nation at the Olympics. And while different sports have different ways of determining the eligible teams and qualified athletes, one thing they all have in common are the very demanding requirements.  In Great Britain, the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships is a very significant event for swimmers. Organized and held by the Aquatics GB, it is an annual championship, however every four years...

2024 Boxing Olympics: What You Need To Know

It may have been called differently and didn’t look exactly the way it does today, but boxing has a much longer history than a lot of modern sports. The origins of boxing are unknown, as are the first rules, though the first recorded evidence of its existence comes from Egypt and Sumer. Later it spread to Greece, Mesopotamia, and Rome. In Greece, boxing was a well developed sport known under the name “pygmachia” (literal translation: “fist fighting”) and enjoyed great popularity. It first appeared at the 23rd Olympic Games in 688 BCE, where athletes fought each other with leather thongs...

Formula 1 Race Tracks: From History to Present Day

Formula 1, often referred to as Formula 1 or F1, doesn’t really need much introduction. Governed by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), Formula One World Championship first launched in 1950, and has been a premier race event ever since.  For each season in Formula One, drivers have to complete several races, collectively known as Grand Prix.
