Two goals down, one game to save it. Shakhtar Donetsk arrive at Selhurst Park on Thursday 7 May (kick-off 8 pm BST) for the second leg of their UEFA Conference League semi-final knowing nothing short of a defining away performance keeps them in the tie.

Crystal Palace, FA Cup holders and now 90 minutes from a first European final, hold a 3-1 aggregate lead courtesy of Ismaïla Sarr’s 21-second opener in Krakow, Daichi Kamada’s strike from a long throw, and Jørgen Strand Larsen’s late chip. The final in Leipzig, on 27 May, is within touching distance for Oliver Glasner’s side.

Crystal Palace vs Shakhtar Donetsk – Betting Odds

Next is a snapshot of key betting markets for the second‑leg match. These fractional odds are indicative and may vary slightly in the coming days. Always check the latest Crystal Palace vs Shakhtar Donetsk odds before placing a bet.

1X2 Betting Odds

The 1X2 market is the classic “pick the result” bet: 1 represents the home team (Crystal Palace) winning, X stands for a draw, and 2 represents the away team (Shakhtar Donetsk) winning. It’s the market most people mean when they talk about Palace vs Shakhtar Donetsk odds, because you’re simply predicting the result at full time.

The bet is settled on the score after 90 minutes plus stoppage time only. Anything that happens in extra time or penalties (in competitions where they apply) is excluded. Your task is purely to predict whether Palace win, the match ends level, or Shakhtar Donetsk win – nothing else.

Crystal Palace win (1) Draw (X) Shakhtar Donetsk win (2)

Double Chance Odds

The double chance market is ideal for cautious people who want to bet on multiple possibilities. Instead of backing a single outcome, you combine two of the three 1X2 results into one bet. The options are:

  • 1X: home win or draw – your bet wins if the home side avoids defeat.
  • 12: either side wins – you lose only if the match ends in a draw.
  • X2: draw or away win – the away team must not lose.

Because you’re covering two outcomes, the prices are shorter than in the 1X2 market. Double chance bets settle after 90 minutes plus stoppage time.

Handicap Betting Odds

The handicap market evens out a mismatch by giving one side a virtual head start (or deficit) in goals. A team listed at -1 starts the bet a goal behind: they have to win by two or more for the bet to land. A team at +1 starts a goal ahead – they “win” the bet by drawing, winning, or even losing by exactly one.

Quarter-line handicaps like -1.25 or +1.25 split the stake across two adjacent lines (in this case, -1 and -1.5). On a -1.25 bet, a two-goal-or-more win pays out fully, while a one-goal win loses half the stake (the -1 portion pushes and is refunded, the -1.5 portion loses). Anything less than a one-goal win loses outright.

Both Teams to Score (BTTS) Odds

BTTS (Both Teams To Score) is a yes/no bet on whether each side scores at least one goal. The final score, the winner, and the order of goals are all irrelevant: what matters is that both teams get on the scoresheet. A 1-1 makes BTTS Yes win, so does a 4-3 or a 2-1. Anything ending 1-0, 3-0, 0-0 or 0-2 settles BTTS No.

A team that creates plenty but has a leaky defence often pushes BTTS Yes prices low. A side packing the box to defend a lead can drag the No price into favourite territory.

Own goals do count toward BTTS Yes. Anything credited as a goal by either team registers, regardless of how it ended up in the net.

Goal Total (Over/Under) Odds

Over/Under markets ask you to guess whether the total number of goals scored by both sides will land above or below a set line. If you select the 2.5 line, Over needs three goals or more. Under needs zero, one or two. The half-goal removes ambiguity (there can’t be a 2.5-goal result, so the bet always settles cleanly without a refund).

It doesn’t matter who wins or who scores the goal. A 3-0 home win and a 2-2 draw both settle as Over 2.5. A 1-0, a 0-0 and a 2-0 all settle as Under 2.5.

Defensive cup ties, two-legged knockouts where one side is protecting an aggregate lead, and matches with high red-card risk often skew lower-scoring. All worth keeping in mind when assessing the line.

Remember, 2.5 is just an example. You can set the line wherever you prefer (3.5 is another common one).

Over 2.5 goals Under 2.5 goals

Correct Score Odds

Correct Score is all about guessing the exact full time scoreline, again on 90 minutes plus stoppage time only. Get it right and the payout is among the best available in the standard markets. Get it close but wrong, even by a single goal, and the bet loses outright.

Because of how many plausible scorelines there are, prices are stretched across a wide range. Tight, low-scoring results (1-0, 1-1, 2-1) tend to be the shortest because they’re statistically most common in elite football.

Some punters split a small stake across two or three correlated scorelines as a way to back a narrative (a tight home win, say) without committing to a single number.
