Coral Gold Cup Weekend 2025: Preview & Betting Odds

The Coral Gold Cup Weekend is making its annual comeback next week, and the horse jump racing community couldn’t be more excited. One of the most popular and anticipated highlights of Britain’s jump race season, it is definitely a must see event for steeplechase enthusiasts.

The entire Coral Gold Cup event takes place at the Newbury Racecourse. Even though the first written record of horse racing in Newbury dates back to 1805, it wasn’t until a century later that the Newbury Racecourse was established in its current form in 1905. It is one of the racecourses that stays active all year round, hosting both flat and jump races. The list of notable races conducted at Newbury includes a variety of names, the Lockinge Stakes, one of Great Britain’s 36 annual Group 1 flat races, among them.

The Coral Gold Cup Weekend will be the last event in Newbury for the month of November. It typically lasts for two days, and this year will be held on Friday, 28 November and Saturday, 29 November. The Play Coral “Racing Super Series” For Free ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle Race will open the meeting as its first race, while The Coral “Pipped At The Post” And Win Handicap Steeple Chase will close the event.

The Coral Gold Cup Handicap Steeple Chase, which gives the name to the entire meeting, is also conducted on the second day of the racing weekend.

Betting at Coral Gold Cup Weekend

Coral Gold Cup Weekend follows the trend when it comes to horse race betting. You can place bets online or, if you are attending, try one of the betting facilities and the bookmakers at the track. You will find offers for various horse race betting markets for all races of the Coral Gold Cup Weekend on many bookmaking platforms.

At 7bet, we offer a wide range of horse race betting markets both for domestic and international events.

Please note that odds for the Coral Gold Cup Weekend will be available closer to the event date.

Betting at the Coral Gold Cup Weekend includes various horse betting markets, with some of the most popular being:

  • Win: The most simple betting market to understand and to follow, it has the same aim in most sports, i.e. trying to predict the winner. Here you place your wager on the horse that you see as the most likely to win the race. If your prediction happens to be correct, you will be eligible for a payout proportional to the offered odds and the size of your stake.
  • Place: Placement in horse racing means that the horse takes one of the winning places. Depending on the number of runners in that particular race, the winning top can be defined in the range from top two to top four. When placing a wager on this bet, you don’t have to predict the exact position for your horse within the winning top, as any of them will work toward your bet.
  • First Two (or First Three): If you want to try and predict all the winning horses, you can place your bet on this market. You don’t place a separate wager on each horse but rather name the first two or the first three horses to come to the finish line in one bet. The important part is that you also need to specify the order in which they will finish the race. All of them have to come to the finish line in that particular order for your bet to win.
  • Two From Three: This betting market follows a similar mechanism but with a somewhat lower risk. Here you have to predict any two out of the first three horses to finish the race. The good thing is that you don’t have to predict their exact placements, as any place within the winning top will qualify you for a payout. However, both of them need to come to the finish line within the top three. If only one of them is placed and the other is not, your wager will lose.

Always remember to gamble responsibly and treat betting as a form of entertainment and not means for financial gain.
