The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world is full of dreamers, up-and-comers and exciting new faces. We all know the Connor McGregor’s, the Jon Jones’s, the Anderson Silva’s, Rose Namajunas’ and other superstars in the game. However, for true fans of the sport, it’s crucial to be familiar with promising up-and-comers, too. One of them is a Light Heavyweight from England – Paul Webster. Our MMA fighter profile will tell you all there is to know about this versatile pro.
Biography
There isn’t all that much biography-related information about the English fighter online.
Despite this, not a single fighter catalogue or website has information about his birthdate or birthplace. Yet, we have information about his weight, which was last listed at 205 lbs or just around 93 kg. So, Paul Webster would fit into the Light Heavyweight category in the MMA world.
Paul Webster’s MMA Fight History & Prospects
As a professional, the Englishman debuted in 2016. He has never lost a professional fight, albeit he also hadn’t had that many bouts. In the Light Heavyweight division, the man amassed 4 wins by TKO and 0 losses. Paul Webster can be described as a power fighter. He pressures his opponents with strong strikes and always tries to be on the offensive whether he has the size advantage or not. He isn’t the quickest, most tactical or most precise fighter in the UK’s MMA world, but he usually simply beats his opponents by landing haymaker after haymaker.
Fearless and powerful would be the 2 best words to describe MMA pro Paul Webster.
His best results are probably the win against Aron Jones at UCMMA 57 and the win against Jack Scott at UCMMA 56.
Given his undefeated result and knockout power, Paul Webster could have climbed the ladder and achieved more success in his MMA career. Both domestic and international scouts, fans and analysts alike were eager to see how he developed and competed against higher-ranked opponents. Yet, his last fight in UCMMA happened in 2018. Why is that? The answer isn’t all that pleasant, but we are all about transparency and will share it in the next paragraph.
Legal Trouble
If you were to merely Google Paul Webster, besides the fighter profiles, you would likely stumble upon one of the many British tabloids. The headlines for articles featuring Paul Webster’s name are disturbing and saddening.
Apparently, as of 2019, the man had 25 total legal offences and a whopping 16 previous convictions. He has a history of domestic abuse, as he was found guilty of domestic assault back in 2008. While many might have thought that despite the previous convictions, everyone’s allowed a second chance, Webster squandered that with no regard.
Somewhere around 2017-2018, the Englishman was in a relationship with a woman. For one reason or another, the woman broke up with him (surprise, surprise, given his history). Instead of taking on the chin like a real man, he psyched out and started a vicious smearing campaign against the lady. As disturbing as it sounds, he sent explicit photos of his ex to her family. Attached to the pictures were graphic text messages with threats of violence. In addition to this bouquet of beautiful acts, Paul Webster also targeted the victim directly, threatening to send even more intimate imagery to her closest people.
Finally, Webster was arrested, pleaded guilty and got a 42-week suspended sentence. This means that he wouldn’t need to go to jail if he didn’t commit another crime during the sentence.
It’s such a shame that a winning fighter had absolutely no moral compass and not just wasted his career but also hurt people along the way. This is the story of Paul Webster from MMA.
