Chelsea’s only trip to Hill Dickinson Stadium is one they’d rather forget. In March, Beto scored twice as Everton won 3-0, at a time when Chelsea were struggling under Liam Rosenior.
Xabi Alonso is in charge now, but Everton haven’t got any easier to beat: David Moyes’s side are unbeaten after six league games and sit fifth, level on 10 points with sixth-placed Chelsea. They meet again in Matchweek 7, with kick-off in Liverpool at 12:30 BST on Saturday 17 October.
Below, we explain each bet from scratch, and the other games are on our Premier League betting page.
Everton vs Chelsea – Betting Odds
Chelsea are the favourites in the Everton vs Chelsea betting odds. At 13/12, a £10 bet on Chelsea would make £10.83 profit, while the same bet on Everton at 2/1 would make almost twice as much, £20. The draw, at 5/2, is rated the least likely result.
1X2 Betting Odds
1X2 is the most basic bet in football: you predict how the match ends. 1 means a home win, X a draw and 2 an away win. Everton are the home side, so they’re the 1, and Chelsea are the 2. The margin doesn’t matter.
On 7bet, football odds are shown as fractions, the traditional UK format. To work out your profit, divide the first number by the second and multiply by your stake (the amount you bet). At 2/1, a £10 stake makes £20 profit, and you also get your £10 back. The lower the price, the more likely the bookmaker thinks that result is, and the team with the lowest price is the favourite.
In the Everton vs Chelsea odds, the three results are priced like this:
| Everton win (1) | Draw (X) | Chelsea win (2) |
| 2/1 | 5/2 | 13/12 |
Double Chance Odds
Double chance lets you back two results with one bet. You choose a pair, and you win if either of them happens. There are three pairs:
- 1X: home win or draw
- 12: home win or away win, so anything except a draw
- X2: draw or away win
This market makes the bet safer but it also pays less. All three prices here are odds-on: the first number is lower than the second, so if you win, your profit is smaller than your stake.
Draw or Chelsea has a lower price than Everton or draw, so the bookmaker thinks Chelsea are more likely to avoid defeat. £10 on Draw or Chelsea would make £3.33, against £6.36 on Everton or draw. Everton or Chelsea pays the least, because it only loses on a draw, the result the bookmaker rates least likely.
| 1X – Everton or draw | 12 – Everton or Chelsea | X2 – Draw or Chelsea |
| 7/11 | 1/4 | 1/3 |
Handicap Betting Odds
Handicap betting gives the weaker team a goal advantage before kick-off. The underdog’s handicap has a plus sign (+) and the favourite’s has a minus sign (-). At full time, you add the handicap to the real score, and that new score settles your bet.
With a +1 handicap, for example, a draw becomes a one-goal win on paper, while a two-goal defeat is still a defeat.
Half-goal lines can never end level. +0.5 wins if your team wins or draws, while -0.5 wins only if your team wins.
Quarter-goal lines split your stake in two. £10 on +0.25 is really two £5 bets: one on +0, where nothing is added and a draw simply returns that £5, and one on +0.5. If your team wins, both bets win; if they lose, both lose. A draw returns one £5 and wins the other. On -0.25, the halves go on 0 and -0.5, so a draw returns one £5 and loses the other.
| Everton +0.25 | Chelsea -0.25 |
| 20/23 | 4/5 |
| Everton +0.5 | Chelsea -0.5 |
| 20/29 | 21/20 |
Both Teams to Score (BTTS) Odds
Both teams to score, or BTTS, doesn’t care who wins. It only asks whether each team scores at least once. A 2-1 or a 3-3 is a Yes. A 0-0, or any score where one team fails to score, such as 3-0, is a No. A team that doesn’t concede has kept a clean sheet, and one clean sheet is all a No bet needs. So a Yes bet can lose even in a high-scoring game, if every goal goes in at the same end.
Here Yes is odds-on at 5/9, so the bookmaker expects goals at both ends. £10 on Yes would make £5.56, while £10 on No would make £12.86. This season, Chelsea’s league games have ended with goals at both ends five times out of six. For Everton, it has happened in only three of their six games.
| Yes | No |
| 5/9 | 9/7 |
Goal Total (Over/Under) Odds
Over/Under is a bet on the total number of goals in the match, counting both teams together. The bookmaker sets a line, like 2.5 goals, and you decide whether the final total will be above or below it.
The total can never be exactly 2.5, so either Over or Under always wins. Over 2.5 needs three goals or more, like 2-1 or 3-0. Under 2.5 needs two or fewer, like 1-1, 1-0 or 0-0. In the Total market, you can move the line with the slider, to 1.5 or 3.5 for example, and the prices change with it.
In the Everton vs Chelsea odds on total goals, Over is odds-on:
| Over 2.5 goals | Under 2.5 goals |
| 16/25 | 23/20 |
Correct Score Odds
Correct score is a bet on the exact final score. It’s the hardest bet on this page to win, so it has the biggest prices. Being close doesn’t count: if you back 1-1 and the match ends 2-2, you lose, even though you called the draw.
Most football matches end with only a few goals, so low scores like 1-0 and 1-1 have the shortest prices, and the price climbs as you add goals. On 7bet, you pick the score with the + and – buttons next to each team. You can back several scores, but each one is a separate bet.
Here are the Everton vs Chelsea odds for four popular scorelines:
| 0–0 | 1–1 | Everton 0–1 Chelsea | Everton 1–2 Chelsea |
| 14/1 | 17/3 | 9/1 | 15/2 |
Please note that these odds were accurate at the time of publishing. Prices can move before kick-off, so always check the latest odds before you bet.
