Everton Betting Odds, Team Preview, and Injury Update

Everton F.C., nicknamed the Toffees, is one of the oldest clubs in the English Premier League. They’ve won 24 major trophies since their establishment in 1878 – 9 league titles, 5 FA Cups, 1 European Cup Winners’ Cup, and 9 Charity Shields.

However, all these titles were well over 50 years ago.

Everton has been in a slump in the last 10 seasons. Their best performance was in 2014–15 when they finished fifth in the Premier League and qualified for the UEFA Europa League.

This season, manager Sean Dyche has made some strategic changes to the team to strengthen their position. Below, we give you Everton betting odds, a team preview, and a review of past performances.

Overview of Everton Betting Odds

Everton manager Sean Dyche has been with the club for nearly two years. He used to play as a centre-back for Chesterfield before retiring in 2007. He then went on to manage Watford (2007–12) and Burnley (2012–22). The highlight of his career was when Burnley qualified for the UEFA Europa League in 2018. However, he was dismissed after the club got relegated in 2022.

He then moved to Everton on a two-and-a-half-year contract, replacing Frank Lampard. Here’s how his team has performed in different tournaments under him:

Premier League

Last season, Everton managed to reach safety by a whisker. They had a shocking 10-point deduction at the start of the season, imposed by an independent commission during the November 2023 international break. So, every game was a battle to climb out of the hole.

During his frustration, Dyche described managing Everton last season as “juggling sand”. However, he did manage to juggle with the resources he had. Their story had a happy ending with a 15th place finish, and a 2–0 win over Liverpool as the main highlight of their season.

In the last five seasons, Everton has managed to finish mid-table.

Season  League Standing
2023-24 15th
2022-23 17th
2021-22 16th
2020-21 10th
2019-20 12th

This season, Dyche has had a limited budget to shuffle players (Everton is being sold to a Texas-based investment firm). He has brought Iliman Ndiaye (Marseilles) and Tim Iroegbunam (Aston Villa) to add depth and energy to the midfield. Strikers Jesper Lindstrøm (Napoli) and Armando Broja (Chelsea) are leading the attack.

Everton Manager Odds

Everton has been facing the stress of relegation for the last few seasons. There’s pressure on the 53-year-old Dyche to steer the team to a mid-table finish.

Dyche was recruited mid-season in January 2023, after previous manager Frank Lampard was sacked for poor performance. Dyche managed to help Everton to safety at the 15th position in the Premier League. The toffees also recorded 13 clean sheets in that season.

Currently, Everton is being sold to new owners – the Friedkin Group for a majority 94% stake. While the acquisition is underway, it’s rumoured that the new owners might bring in a different coach.

Many bookmakers have offered bets on Dyche’s replacement. Some names doing the rounds are Gareth Southgate (former manager of  England men’s national team), David Moyes (former West Ham manager), Graham Potter (former Chelsea manager).

Everton Squad: Players In and Out

Dyche has shuffled the Everton team this season. Seven new players have been added to the team, and eight have been transferred or loaned out.
