Melanie Gervasoni

I've been a copywriter for almost 10 years now. The job, broadly, is getting people to read things they were fully prepared to scroll past. At 7bet, what I write about is sports and casinos.

Writing Approach

The stuff I’m proudest of is the articles you finish reading and come away actually understanding the game a bit better. I try my hardest to keep my English as plain as possible so that even beginners can grasp the topic.

How Do You Stay Up to Date?

  • Stats and analytics platforms for form, xG, and head-to-head numbers
  • Official league and club sites for confirmed team news and lineups
  • Football news outlets, both British and continental press
  • Odds movement across the books
  • Watching live sports, obviously

Featured Work & Quick Facts

Approximate published articles: I must have written more than 800 articles throughout my career – these are a few I particularly enjoyed writing for 7bet.

Education & Languages

  • I have a degree in Marketing, Sales and Export Management, which sounds grander than my daily to-do list usually is, but it's how I ended up writing for a living.
  • I work in two languages: Italian, my native language, and English, which I'm fluent enough in to argue about football.

Netherlands vs Germany Betting Odds: UEFA Nations League 2026

  • Melanie Gervasoni
    Sports & casino journalist
Two managers take charge of a country for the first time on the same night, in the same stadium, against each other. Jürgen Klopp's Germany visit Xavi's Netherlands at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam on Thursday 24 September, kick-off 19:45 BST (20:45 local). It is Matchday 1 of League A, Group 2 in the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League, and neither side arrives happy: both went out of the World Cup on penalties in the round of 32.  I explain every market below, with live Nations League odds available now.JTNDc2NyaXB0JTIwdHlwZSUzRCUyMnRleHQlMkZqYXZhc2NyaXB0JTIyJTIwc3JjJTNEJTIyaHR0cHMlM0ElMkYlMkZqcy43YmV0LnBhcnRuZXJzJTJGamF2YXNjcmlwdC5waHAlM0ZwcmVmaXglM0RnMHRwcEFNSVpFbVhyWnp4QzYzOG5XTmQ3WmdxZFJMayUyNmFtcCUzQm1lZGlhJTNENDU5JTI2YW1wJTNCY2FtcGFpZ24lM0Q0MCUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRnNjcmlwdCUzRQ== Netherlands vs Germany – Betting Odds Our bookmakers have decided on the Netherlands...

How Many Greyhound Tracks Are in the UK?

  • Melanie Gervasoni
    Sports & casino journalist
As of August 2026 there are 18 licensed greyhound tracks in the UK. Fifteen are in England, two are in Northern Ireland, and one is in Wales. Scotland has none.  Ask how many greyhound tracks in the UK are still running and you'll get a different answer depending on where you look. Some of that is just out of date, as two tracks stopped racing in April 2026 and several widely read sources haven't caught up. Some include only the tracks licensed by the British regulator, which doesn't cover Northern Ireland, and older totals often include the independent venues (they no...

How to Bet on Greyhounds: A Beginner’s Guide

  • Melanie Gervasoni
    Sports & casino journalist
Greyhound racing has a simple structure. A small field of greyhounds covers a set distance around the track, and the order they finish in becomes the official result. A bet is a choice about that order in one particular race, with a stake attached to it. This greyhound betting guide is for readers starting from zero when it comes to this type of competition. I'll walk you through how to bet on greyhounds one step at a time – finding a race, understanding what you have to do, placing the bet, and knowing what happens to it once the race...

Everton vs Crystal Palace Betting Odds: Premier League

  • Melanie Gervasoni
    Sports & casino journalist
Everton and Crystal Palace agreed a straight swap on 10 August. Dwight McNeil went south, Brennan Johnson came north, both on four-year deals. Twelve days later the two clubs open the 2026/27 season against each other, and both wingers could line up against the team-mates they trained with in July.  Kick-off is 15:00 BST on Saturday 22 August at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. It is also Pierre Sage's first competitive match as Palace manager. Prices for the whole Premier League opening weekend are live now. Odds can change as the match approaches, so always check the latest Everton vs Crystal Palace...

The Best English Football Managers Right Now [Updated 2026]

Twenty clubs start the 2026/27 Premier League season. Only three of them have an English manager in the dugout. If that were the whole picture, a list of the best English football managers would be a short and fairly grim read. It isn't the whole picture. The most decorated English coach working today is in charge of the United States women's team. Another one dragged Sweden to a World Cup. So this rundown of the best English managers goes wherever the good ones actually are, and it covers six current English football managers. No ranking, before anyone asks.JTNDc2NyaXB0JTIwdHlwZSUzRCUyMnRleHQlMkZqYXZhc2NyaXB0JTIyJTIwc3JjJTNEJTIyaHR0cHMlM0ElMkYlMkZqcy43YmV0LnBhcnRuZXJzJTJGamF2YXNjcmlwdC5waHAlM0ZwcmVmaXglM0RnMHRwcEFNSVpFbVhyWnp4QzYzOG5XTmQ3WmdxZFJMayUyNmFtcCUzQm1lZGlhJTNENDU5JTI2YW1wJTNCY2FtcGFpZ24lM0Q0MCUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRnNjcmlwdCUzRQ== How These English...

The Best EFL Championship Players of All Time: Our Selection

Ask most people to name the best Championship players in history and you will get a list of famous men who barely played in it. Gareth Bale, John Stones. Wonderful footballers, both, and neither left any real mark on the division itself. Billy Sharp did. He scored his first Championship goal in March 2008, a header in a win over Coventry, and his 130th fifteen years later. Nobody has scored more. Nobody is even close. England's second tier gets treated as a corridor for teenagers heading up, expensive squads heading down, everybody passing through on the way somewhere better. The five...

FedEx St. Jude Championship 2026: Schedule & Tournament Guide

  • Melanie Gervasoni
    Sports & casino journalist
Twenty players will see their season end in Memphis this week. Nobody knows yet which twenty. That is essentially what awaits us at the next FedEx St. Jude Championship: 70 golfers qualified, only the top 50 move on to the BMW Championship, and there is no cut to hide behind for the ones who start badly. The FedEx St. Jude Championship 2026 runs from Thursday 13 August to Sunday 16 August at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, and opens the PGA Tour's FedExCup Playoffs. Here we cover the full, updated FedEx St. Jude Championship schedule, the tournament format, the venue...

France vs England Betting Odds: FIFA World Cup 2026

  • Melanie Gervasoni
    Sports & casino journalist
Right until the semis, most neutrals had this one pencilled in as the final. Instead, France and England meet in Miami for the World Cup 2026 third-place playoff, a bronze consolation neither side wanted. Spain picked France apart 2-0 in the semis; Argentina came from behind to break English hearts. Now Deschamps and Tuchel send out their bruised favourites at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday 18 July, kicking off at 10pm UK time (5pm local). Not the stage either wanted, but a medal is still a medal, and neither of these squads does "friendly." You can follow the live France vs...
