The last time Arsenal won in Munich, in March 2013, Mikel Arteta was their captain. They haven’t won there since, and their last three visits all ended in defeat, with 11 goals conceded. This time, though, Arteta brings the English champions, and they beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in London last November.
The two sides meet again on Matchday 3 of the league phase, at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday 21 October, with kick-off at 20:00 BST.

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal – Betting Odds
In the Bayern Munich vs Arsenal betting odds, Bayern are slight favourites. £10 on them at 13/12 would make £10.83 profit, while £10 on Arsenal at 2/1 would make £20. The bookmaker sees a draw as the least likely result, so it pays the most.
1X2 Betting Odds
1X2 is the classic match result bet. You pick one of three outcomes: 1 for a home win, X for a draw and 2 for an away win. Bayern are at home, so a Bayern win is 1 and an Arsenal win is 2. Only the result counts, so a 1-0 win pays the same as a 4-0.
7bet shows its football betting prices as fractions. The first number is what you win and the second is what you bet: 2/1 means you win £2 for every £1 you bet, and 13/12 means £13 for every £12. If you win, you also get back the money you bet, called your stake.
Fractions tell you one more thing: the less a result pays, the more likely the bookmaker thinks it is. Bayern’s price is the lowest, so they’re the favourites for this match.
Here are the Bayern Munich vs Arsenal odds for the 1X2 market:
| Bayern Munich win (1) | Draw (X) | Arsenal win (2) |
| 13/12 | 11/4 | 2/1 |
Double Chance Odds
Double chance lets you cover two of the three possible results in one bet, and you win if either one happens. There are three pairs:
- 1X: Bayern win or draw (loses only if Arsenal win)
- 12: Bayern win or Arsenal win (loses only if it’s a draw)
- X2: draw or Arsenal win (loses only if Bayern win)
Covering two results is safer, but it pays less. When the first number in a price is smaller than the second, as in all three prices below, it’s called odds-on, and a winning bet makes less profit than the amount you bet.
| 1X – Bayern Munich or draw | 12 – Bayern Munich or Arsenal | X2 – Draw or Arsenal |
| 7/20 | 1/4 | 8/13 |
Handicap Betting Odds
Handicap betting gives the weaker team a head start. The favourite gets a minus number, taken off their goals, and the underdog gets a plus number, added to theirs. At full time, you apply these numbers to the real score, and the new score decides your bet.
Say you back Arsenal +1.5. If Bayern win 1-0, the score on your bet becomes 1-1.5, so you win. If Bayern win 2-0, it becomes 2-1.5, and you lose. Half goals mean the new score can never be a draw.
This game’s lines are smaller:
- Half-goal lines (-0.5 and +0.5) work like the example. Bayern -0.5 wins only if Bayern win, and Arsenal +0.5 wins if Arsenal win or draw.
- Quarter-goal lines (-0.25 and +0.25) split your money into two equal bets. £10 on Bayern -0.25 is £5 on Bayern with no handicap and £5 on Bayern -0.5. If it’s a draw, you get the first £5 back and lose the second. On Arsenal +0.25, a draw gives one £5 back and wins the other.
| Bayern Munich –0.25 | Arsenal +0.25 |
| 4/5 | 20/23 |
| Bayern Munich –0.5 | Arsenal +0.5 |
| 21/20 | 20/29 |
Both Teams to Score (BTTS) Odds
Both teams to score, or BTTS, asks one simple question: will each team score at least once? The result of the match doesn’t matter. Yes wins if Bayern and Arsenal both score, as in a 2-1. No wins if at least one team fails to score, as in a 0-0 or a 2-0.
So the number of goals isn’t what counts. A 4-0 is a winner for No, because only one team scored, while a 1-1 is a winner for Yes.
In the Bayern Munich vs Arsenal odds, Yes is odds-on at 7/13, so the bookmaker expects goals at both ends. £10 on Yes would make £5.38 profit. No pays more, £13.33 from £10, because the bookmaker thinks it’s less likely that either team keeps a clean sheet (doesn’t concede a goal).
| Yes | No |
| 7/13 | 4/3 |
Goal Total (Over/Under) Odds
Over/under betting, called Total on 7bet, is about how many goals are scored in the match. Who scores them doesn’t matter. The bookmaker sets a number, called the line, and you bet on whether the total ends up over or under it.
The most common line is 2.5 goals. A match can’t have half a goal, so there’s always a winner: Over 2.5 wins if the match has three or more goals, such as 3-0 or 2-2, and Under 2.5 wins if it has two or fewer, such as 2-0 or 0-0. On 7bet, you can move the line with the slider: a higher line makes Over harder to win, so it pays more.
Remember, the 2.5-goal line is just an example. You’re free to choose any of the available lines (over/under 3.5 is another common option).
| Over 2.5 goals | Under 2.5 goals |
| 4/7 | 5/4 |
Correct Score Odds
A correct score bet means predicting the exact final score. Picking the right winner isn’t enough: a bet on Bayern to win 2-1 loses if they win 3-1. Getting it exactly right is hard, so prices are much bigger than in the other markets.
On 7bet, you build the score with the + and – buttons beside each team’s name, and its price appears on the right. To cover more than one score, you need a separate bet for each, and only one can come true.
Below are some popular outcomes for this match and their current prices – just examples, not a full list. You can choose the scoreline you prefer while setting your bet.
| 0–0 | 1–1 | Bayern Munich 1–0 | Bayern Munich 2–1 |
| 16/1 | 6/1 | 9/1 | 8/1 |
