The third week of November brings jump racing enthusiasts a very special event. The title race of the Betfair Chase Day, the Betfair Chase, celebrates its 20th edition this year. It is the first Grade 1 horse racing event of the British National Hunt season. So if you are looking for a one day jump racing event, mark your calendar for the Betfair Chase Day 2025.
It is conducted at the Haydock Park Racecourse in Merseyside. While horse racing has always been popular in the area, the current racecourse opened only at the very end of the 19th century, in 1899. Since then, it has been awarded the title of the Racecourse of the Year twice, in 1998 and 2000.
This season, the Betfair Chase Day will take place on Saturday, 22 November. The Betfair Supports Safer Gambling Week Newton Novices’ Hurdle Race will open the event as its first race, while the The Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Handicap Steeple Chase will close the day. The main feature race, the Betfair Steeple Chase, comes right before the last one on the schedule.

Betting at Betfair Chase Day
Horse race betting has been one of Britain’s most favourite sports betting for centuries, and with the introduction of online betting it only grew in popularity. As with many other British racing events, you will be able to place a bet both online and at the venue during the Betfair Chase Day.
At 7bet, we offer a wide range of horse race betting markets both for domestic and international events.
Please note that odds for the Betfair Chase Day will be available closer to the event date.
Betting at the Betfair Chase Day includes various horse betting markets, with some of the most popular being:
- Win: Have you spotted a horse that seems to show strong potential for winning the race? You can place your wager on it in an attempt to predict the winner. If your horse reaches the finish line first, your bet will also win, qualifying you for a payout proportional to the offered odds and the size of your bet.
- Place: If you think your favourite horse is a strong contender but its rivals are equally well prepared, so you are not sure who will take the crown, you can place your bet on your horse being placed. This means it has to finish the race in any position within the winning top. This ranges between top two to top four depending on the total number of runners in the race. Since any placement within the winning top will bring you a win, your risks of making a wrong prediction are comparatively lower.
- First Two (or First Three): But what if you have an idea of which horses will comprise the winning top? If that is the case, you can place a wager on all winning places in one race. Depending on the race, this will be either the first two or the first three horses to come to the finish line. The catch here is that besides naming all contenders, you also have to correctly predict what place they will take, otherwise your wager won’t count.
- Two From Three: If placing a bet on the winning top seems like a good idea but you would still like to somewhat decrease your risks, try betting on two out of three placed horses. Here you need to correctly predict any two out of the first three horses to reach the finish line, but you don’t have to predict their exact placement. However, both your nominees have to be placed within the top three for your wager to be eligible for a win.
Always remember to gamble responsibly and treat betting as a form of entertainment and not means for financial gain.
How to Buy Tickets
Tickets for the Betfair Chase Day are available for purchase on the official website of the Haydock Park Racecourse. The venue will be offering passes to three enclosures, but you have to hurry up if you want to secure a ticket, as one of them, the Premier Lounge, is already sold out.
The Grandstand and Paddock enclosure is the most affordable one. Prices start at £33 per person, but you can buy tickets at a discount price of £29.70, if you will be attending in a group of 6 or more people.
Here you will get a majestic view of racing from the Makerfield grandstand with access to three raised areas, one of which offers seats. You will also be welcome to the Parade Ring and Winners’ Enclosure before and after the race. The enclosure offers a variety of catering options and betting facilities.
The County Enclosure is the most high demand one, with ticket prices starting at £45 per person. This pass doesn’t offer discounts for large groups. You will have access to all premium grandstands on the grounds, the Centenary Stand and Tommy Whittle, which offer seating and first floor viewing over the Finishing Post. In addition, you will be able to visit some indoor eateries.
Children from 5 to 17 years old get free access but must be issued a ticket and accompanied by a responsible adult.
Of course, Haydock Park Racecourse offers a special dining experience to enhance your day. Hospitality packages can be purchased separately.
The venue goes by the “dressed to feel your best” motto when it comes to race day style. This means that there is no strict dress code in place, as long as your outfit is within appropriate boundaries. Fancy dress is only allowed in the Grandstand and Paddock, while sport team colours are discouraged to avoid possible confrontations. Visitors are advised to keep British autumn weather in mind when choosing their outfits for maximum comfort.
