The last time England played at this stadium in Prague, they lost. In October 2019, substitute Zdenek Ondrasek scored the winner on his Czech debut, and England lost 2-1, their first qualifying defeat in ten years.
Now they return to the Fortuna Arena as World Cup bronze medallists, on Tuesday 29 September, for Matchday 2 of League A, Group 3 in the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League. Kick-off is at 19:45 BST.

Czechia vs England – Betting Odds
The Czechia vs England betting odds make England strong favourites. The goal markets lean towards three or more goals, but not necessarily from both teams.
1X2 Betting Odds
1X2 is usually the first market on any match in the football odds section. It’s a bet on how the match ends: 1 is a home win, X is a draw and 2 is an away win. Czechia are at home, so they’re the 1, and England are the 2. Only the result counts, not how big the win is, and the bet is settled after 90 minutes plus stoppage time.
Odds are shown as fractions: “win this much for betting that much”. At 5/1, every £1 you bet wins £5. At 3/7, every £7 wins £3. A winning bet also returns your stake, the money you bet.
If the first number of the fraction is bigger, the price is odds-against and you win more than you bet. If it’s smaller, it’s odds-on: you win less than you bet, because the bookmaker thinks that result is more likely to happen than not.

Double Chance Odds
Double chance covers two of the three possible results with one bet, so you only lose if the third happens:
- 1X: Czechia win or draw
- 12: Czechia win or England win
- X2: draw or England win
You win more often, so you’re paid less. A double chance price is always shorter than the price of each result on its own. It’s useful if you think an underdog can avoid defeat, or you expect a winner but can’t pick one.
Draw or England at 1/9 means betting £9 to win £1, so £10 wins just £1.11: the bookmaker thinks an England defeat is very unlikely.

Handicap Betting Odds
Handicap betting gives the weaker team a head start in goals, and the favourite starts the same number behind. After the match, you apply the handicap to the real score, and the new score decides your bet. Here, the underdog Czechia get the head start (+) and England start behind (-).
On the 1-goal line, England -1 wins if England win by two goals or more, and Czechia +1 wins if Czechia win or draw. If England win by exactly one, the new score is level: that’s a push, and you get your stake back. Lines ending in .5 can’t be a push, as nobody scores half a goal.
The 1.25 line splits your stake: half goes on the 1-goal line and half on the 1.5-goal line. With £10 on England -1.25:
- England win by two or more: both halves win.
- England win by one: the £5 on -1 is returned, and the £5 on -1.5 loses.
- Draw or Czechia win: both halves lose.
On Czechia +1.25, a one-goal defeat means half your stake comes back and the other half wins.

Both Teams to Score (BTTS) Odds
Both teams to score, or BTTS, doesn’t care who wins. Yes wins if Czechia and England both score at least once, like 1-1 or 2-1. No wins if at least one team doesn’t score, like 0-0 or 2-0.
So BTTS can pay out on a one-sided game: a 4-1 England win is still a Yes. And a low-scoring 1-1 draw is still a loser for No.
For this match both prices are odds-on, which often happens with a near 50-50 bet, because the bookmaker keeps a small margin on each side. “No” is slightly shorter, so the bookmaker leans towards at least one team not scoring.

Goal Total (Over/Under) Odds
Over/Under is a bet on the total goals scored by both teams. The bookmaker sets a line, usually 2.5 goals, and you pick whether there will be more or fewer. The result doesn’t matter.
The half goal means there’s always a clear answer. Over 2.5 needs three goals or more, like 2-1 or 3-0. Under 2.5 needs two goals or fewer, like 1-0 or 1-1. On the match page, the slider shows other lines, like 1.5 or 3.5, which work the same way.
Here Over 2.5 is odds-on at 7/10, so the bookmaker thinks three or more goals is more likely than not.

Correct Score Odds
Correct score asks you to name the exact result before kick-off. If you back England to win 2-1 and they win 3-1, the bet loses. That’s why the prices here are the biggest on the page.
