Match Preview and Head-to-Head History

The two teams faced each other twice this season. Their last match was the FA Cup fourth round, which Villa won 2–1 in February. Villa’s midfielder, Jacob Ramsey, scored the first goal in the very first minute of the match. Morgan Rogers extended the lead in the 64th minute. Tottenham’s Mathys Tel responded with a stoppage-time goal in the 90th minute, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Spurs’ exit from the FA Cup.

Before this, the two teams met in the first leg of their Premier League fixture in November. It was a home game for Tottenham, and they marked a decisive 4–1 win over Villa. Tottenham’s all four goals came in the second half – two by midfielder Dominic Solanke, and a goal each from Brennan Johnson and Morgan Rogers.

A win on Friday will be a big jump for both teams on the Premier League table. So, fans can expect plenty of action in this match!

This match was originally scheduled for 18th May but has been preponed on the Spurs’ request. Spurs will meet Manchester United in the Europa League final on Wednesday, 21st May. The team requested to have the same preparation time as Man U for the final match.

Head-to-Head Record

The two teams have faced each other 17 times in the last 10 years. Aston Villa has won six matches, while the Spurs have won 11 matches.

Recent head-to-head matches:

  • Villa 2–1 Tottenham (9 February 2025, FA Cup fourth round)
  • Tottenham 4–1 Villa (3 November 2024)
  • Villa 0–4 Tottenham (10 March 2024)

  • Tottenham 2–1 Villa (3rd October 2021)

While Tottenham has dominated this fixture in the past, currently, Aston Villa is in good form, so punters should be prepared for a close match.
