Football fans are about to witness some of the most heated battles of the summer 2025, as the FIFA Club World Cup ends the league stage and advances to the knockout stage. The tournament that started on 14 June will be going on until 13 July around various stadiums in the United States, culminating in the final match at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
This year’s edition marked the first time the competition included 32 teams instead of the usual seven. With all teams divided into eight groups, two out of four teams per group were eliminated at the league stage based on their points within the group. The remaining clubs will proceed to play in the round of 16 that begins the knockout stage.
Portuguese Benfica and English Chelsea will face off in the second match of the round of 16 at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The game will kick off on Saturday, 28 June at 21:00 BST (or 16:00 ET).
Chelsea qualified to participate in the tournament as the winner of the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League, while Benfica was selected as the seventh best ranked eligible team in the UEFA four year ranking.
At the group stage, Benfica led the group table. They advanced to the knockout stage together with the German Bayern Munich, leaving behind Boca Juniors from Argentina and Auckland City from New Zealand.
Chelsea finished second in their group, coming one point behind Brazilian Flamengo. Both clubs advanced to the knockout stage, while Tunisian Espérance de Tunis and American Los Angeles FC were eliminated from the tournament.
SL Benfica vs Chelsea – Betting Odds
Of course, this match wouldn’t go unnoticed by the sports betting community. Most major bookmaking platforms have already offered betting odds on the most popular football betting markets, while punters are naming the winner of the match and making predictions on other odds.
Below we will take a look at some of the most popular betting markets for the match between Benfica vs Chelsea and present the current odds 7bet has to offer on these markets.
1X2 Betting Odds
This is the most popular and a very straightforward betting market in football. Bettors will make predictions as to which of the two competing teams will win the match. The home team is presented as (1), while the away team is presented as (2). You can also place a bet on the match ending in a draw (x). Bets that predict the result correctly will win.
Other names used for this betting market are straight win, 3 way, or match result. If you see any of them on a betting platform, don’t be confused, they are all the same bet. While this bet does require good knowledge of both teams, its easy nature makes it the favourite both among seasoned punters and betting beginners.
At 7bet, we currently offer the following 1×2 FIFA Club World Cup betting odds on the Benfica vs Chelsea match:
SL Benfica (1) | Draw (x) | Chelsea (2) |
12/5 | 12/5 | 11/10 |
Double Chance Odds
The double chance odds market is very similar to the match result bet but comes with slightly less risk. The idea behind this bet is to predict the winner of the match, but instead of placing your wager on one outcome, you place it on two out of possible three results:
- Either the home team wins or the match ends in a draw (1x)
- Either the home team or the away team wins (12)
- Either the away team wins or the match ends in a draw (x2)
This betting market comes with higher possibility to win but, as a result, it has lower odds and, correspondingly, lower payouts than the match outcome bet. This betting market is optimal for the matches where both teams are quite balanced and the result is more difficult to predict. Placing a wager on the double chance odds isn’t recommended if there is an obvious favourite in the match.
At 7bet, we currently offer the following double chance betting odds on the Benfica vs Chelsea match:
SL Benfica or draw (1x) | SL Benfica or Chelsea (12) | Chelsea or draw (x2) |
11/17 | 4/13 | 3/10 |
Draw No Bet Odds
The draw no bet betting market will come in handy if you want to stake your bet on the possible winner of the match but want to safeguard your wager against a draw if it happens. If you predict the winner correctly, your bet will win. But if the match ends in a draw, your stake will be returned to you.
Essentially, this bet is very close to the 1×2 betting market but offers lower risks. However, remember that this will result in lower payouts should you win. Also, not every sport or match might offer this betting market, so bear this in mind when you decide on your bets.
At 7bet, we currently offer the following draw no bet betting odds on the Benfica vs Chelsea match:
SL Benfica (1) | Chelsea (2) |
7/5 | 10/19 |
Handicap Betting Odds
Placing handicap odds requires more betting experience and deep knowledge of the sport, as well as the competing teams. That’s why it is usually not recommended for beginner punters. However, with some practice and exposure to the betting world, mastering the process behind the handicap betting odds is possible for everyone.
The idea behind this bet is to shift the betting results for an added balance of the match outcome. It is typically reserved for a match where one team has a clear advantage, to make it more interesting and challenging to predict for punters.
Every sport will offer different handicap betting markets, depending on its game rules. The most commonly offered handicap odds in football are predicting the winner with a specific goal difference. For example, a punter places a bet that Team A will win with a -1.5 goal handicap. The idea here is that not only Team A has to win the match, their final score has to be higher by exactly two goals than Team B (for example, 2 – 0 or 3 – 1). If Team A wins with any other score (for example, 1 – 0), the handicap bet will still lose.
Underdogs of the match can also be betted on under the handicap bets. Their odds are given with a plus sign (for example, +2). This means a punter places a bet on Team B to lose, but specifically by one goal. If Team B wins or if the match ends in a draw, the bet will still win.
Handicaps can be placed on various parameters of the game. At 7bet, we currently offer the following handicap betting odds on the Benfica vs Chelsea match:
Benfica +0.25 | Chelsea -0.25 |
20/21 | 4/5 |
Other popular handicap lines include:
Benfica | Draw | Chelsea | |
Starts 3 – 0 | 1/20 | 9/1 | 20/1 |
Starts 2 – 0 | 2/9 | 5/1 | 15/2 |
Starts 1 – 0 | 9/13 | 14/5 | 3/1 |
Starts 0 – 1 | 13/2 | 13/3 | 2/7 |
Starts 0 – 2 | 19/1 | 15/2 | 1/14 |
Both Teams to Score (BTTS) Odds
The explanation of this betting market lies in its name. It is up to you to decide whether one or both teams will score during the match. Depending on what you predict, you can place a wager on either yes or no. The best part is that predicting the exact score or the winner of the match is absolutely not necessary for your bet to win. You only have to correctly guess whether both teams or only one of them will send the ball into the opponent’s goal at least once during the match.
To place this bet with any level of confidence, you need to study both teams’ recent matches, their head to head history, as well as the squad form to get a good understanding of what can happen during the match.
At 7bet, we currently offer the following both teams to score betting odds on the Benfica vs Chelsea match:
Yes | No |
4/5 | 20/21 |
Goal Total (Over/Under) Odds
Goal total, more commonly known as over/under, is another simple betting market where you don’t need to think about the winner of the match or the final score. All you have to do is to correctly predict whether the total number of scored goals in the course of the match will be more (over) or less (under) than the number specified in the bet. It doesn’t matter who will score those goals or who takes the victory home.
As a rule, bookmakers offer the goal total of 2.5 for this betting market, but you can place your bet on other numbers as well. Let’s say, you want to bet that the upcoming match between Team A and Team B will end with more than 2.5 goals scored. In this case, should the goal total at the end of the match be three or more, your bet will win. It doesn’t matter whether the actual score will be 2 – 1, 3 – 0, or even 2 – 2.
You will notice that this bet is typically offered in decimal numbers. The reason behind this is to avoid any possible confusion. As an example, imagine if the bookmakers offered the odds of over/under 2. If the match ended with exactly two goals in the net (2 – 0, 1 – 1, or 0 – 2), there would have been a lot of arguments between the punters and bookmakers as to whose bets actually won.
At 7bet, we currently offer the following over/under betting odds on the Benfica vs Chelsea match:
Over 2.5 | Under 2.5 |
20/21 | 4/5 |
Correct Score Odds
Correct score odds is another bet that is recommended for more experienced and advanced bettors. Here you aim to guess the exact score of the match. While the idea behind the bet is very straightforward, as a punter you will require a very good knowledge of the sport, deep familiarity with the teams and their current statistics, squad form, and history of playing against each other.
On the plus side, the odds and payouts for this betting market tend to be much higher compared to other bets. However, you should also be aware of the high risk involved in this bet. For your stake to win, it is not enough to predict which team will win the match. You need to guess the exact score for both the winner and the loser of the match, for example, 0 – 1, 2 – 1, or 2 – 0.
It is also possible to bet on the match ending in a draw, however you still have to predict the exact score, be it, for example, 2 – 2, 1 – 1, or a goalless 0 – 0 draw.
At 7bet, we currently offer the following correct score betting odds for some of the most popular scorelines on the Benfica vs Chelsea match:
Benfica | Chelsea | Odds |
0 | 0 | 17/2 |
1 | 0 | 9/1 |
0 | 1 | 13/2 |
1 | 1 | 5/1 |
2 | 0 | 17/1 |
2 | 1 | 11/1 |
2 | 2 | 13/1 |
0 | 2 | 9/1 |
