Buffalo Blitz Live takes Playtech’s Buffalo Blitz slot and plays it out in a live studio. It’s a unique format which helps the title stand out from standard slots and other live casino games. A host presents the action, and reels spin one after another on screen. You, along with other players, follow the action live. The end result combines the look and mechanics of a popular slot with the pace and vibe of a game show, making Buffalo Blitz Live one of the more unusual titles in our library.
It was released in 2020 by Playtech Live. The action unfolds on a 6x4 grid with 4,096 ways to win. There’s also the Diamond WILD and a Free Spins round that could give up to 100 spins. Unlike on a traditional slot, you set a bet and a number of spins. The sequence then unfolds. You can play Buffalo Blitz Live in the general live casino section at 7bet, where it sits among the other studio-hosted games. In this review, we’ll look at the RTP figures, explain the features, and help you understand how everything works. This should help with responsible play!

If you’re already familiar with the Buffalo Blitz slot, the transition to the live version can be smoother and more enjoyable. This title is often described as best-suited to the fans of the slot who are looking for a more social way to play it.
The host and the shared table give the sessions more of a rhythm. Plus, you can set up win and loss limits to have an easier way of controlling session costs in advance. The 4,096 ways structure, paired with low-medium volatility, is efficient at producing regular smaller wins, with the Free Spins and WILD Multipliers providing larger, rarer wins.
Still, you cannot change and control the pace here as you would in the slot. In addition, the low-medium volatility means smaller swings than in the highly volatile original. If you prefer to control each spin yourself, the standard slots are a better fit. Other studio-hosted formats are available in the game shows section.
When you play Buffalo Blitz Live online, you will notice that it keeps the main Features of the original slot. The Live format adds a host and changes the tempo, but the underlying mechanics are largely identical. Here’s how each part works and what it means in real play conditions.
The action is presented from a purpose-built studio by a host. He or she introduces the spins, comments on the action, reacts to results, and responds to players. Other gamers are playing the same spins alongside you, so the results are shared, and the screen shows statistics alongside the grid.
This means that the session tempo feels entirely different. A slot is a private activity where you control the tempo. Here, you play with a group and a moderator who sets the pace, while the session limits give you control over your betting. While not as fast as the Buffalo Blitz slot, the Live version can add variety to your casual experiences.
Before the spins start and while the timer is running, you choose how your session is going to run:
Once everything is set up, the reels will spin without further input. Limits are particularly useful since they allow users to have complete control of the session. You can be in control of the total cost in advance. Furthermore, you can look at the table in the paytable section to see what different spin counts cost at 3 reference stakes.
The game has no fixed paylines. Instead, a win is made when matching symbols land on adjacent reels anywhere, starting with the leftmost reel. The more matching symbols on each reel, the more ways are counted, increasing the payout. With a 6x4 grid, there are 4,096 possible ways to claim prizes.
In practice, the game’s volatility profile generates small wins in frequent bursts, because the same symbol only has to appear on a few adjacent reels. Plus, the top symbol (Buffalo) can appear stacked across multiple reels, which produces some of the bigger wins during base play.
This is the game’s WILD symbol and can land on reels 2-6. The Diamond WILD has a two-fold effect:
The latter Multiplier is one of the main routes to a larger payout. If you’re lucky enough to land several WILDS during a Free Spin, each one adds its own Multiplier to the payout.
You can trigger the Free Spins round by landing 3+ SCATTERS anywhere on the reels. The number of SCATTERS determines the Free Spins count:
During these spins, a WILD can carry Multipliers to enhance regular wins. There’s also a Retrigger element, which is explained next.
If SCATTERS appear during Free Spins, the round can be extended. The pattern is nearly identical to the base trigger, with the only change being the threshold. You can land 2 SCATTERS to extend the round. Here’s the breakdown of numbers:
Below is a detailed breakdown of the paytable in Buffalo Blitz Live. Knowing it can help manage expectations and carry out responsible play sessions.
The paytable is built around North American wildlife. You have the Buffalo, Cougar, Moose, and other animals, accompanied by card royals at the lower end. The 6x4 grid has no fixed paylines, instead delivering payouts on a ways-to-win system, where rewards are granted for landing matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost one.
In total, the game has 13 unique symbols. You have 6 low-paying card ranks, 5 thematic wildlife animals as the premium icons, a designated WILD, and a SCATTER symbol to round things out.
The minimum win requirement is 3-of-a-kind for almost all symbols. You can land WILDS to help substitute for regular paying icons, while the Buffalo (the premium symbol) rewards for 2+ hits. Symbols need to land on adjacent reels, starting with the leftmost one.
The Buffalo is the most valuable symbol in the game. When you play Buffalo Blitz Live, you can win up to 7.5x the bet for 6 hits.
The SCATTER symbol holds no paytable value. Its only purpose is triggering or re-triggering Free Spins. For a trigger, you need at least 3 SCATTERS anywhere on the grid. During Free Spins, the retrigger threshold is dropped to 2 SCATTERS.
Below is a table with the payouts for 5 high-paying symbols. All payouts are shown as Multipliers of the total bet.
| Symbol | 2 symbols | 3 symbols | 4 symbols | 5 symbols | 6 symbols |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buffalo | 1x | 3.75x | 5x | 6.25x | 7.5x |
| Cougar (Mountain Lion) | - | 1.25x | 3.75x | 5x | 6.25x |
| Raccoon | - | 1.25x | 3.75x | 5x | 6.25x |
| Moose | - | 1x | 2x | 3.75x | 5x |
| Grizzly Bear | - | 1x | 2x | 3.75x | 5x |
Besides the Wildlife, players will also encounter 6 low-paying card ranks. The paytable for them is provided below:
| Symbol | 3 symbols | 4 symbols | 5 symbols | 6 symbols |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ace (A) | 0.5x | 1x | 2.5x | 3.75x |
| King (K) | 0.5x | 1x | 2.5x | 3.75x |
| Queen (Q) | 0.25x | 0.75x | 2x | 3x |
| Jack (J) | 0.25x | 0.75x | 2x | 3x |
| 10 | 0.25x | 0.5x | 2x | 2.5x |
| 9 | 0.25x | 0.5x | 2x | 2.5x |
At 7bet, we’re committed to helping players understand Responsible Gaming. For Buffalo Blitz Live, a key part of that is knowing session cost upfront. It can be calculated by multiplying bet per spin by the number of spins. The table shows the total outlay for three different thresholds.
| Spins | At £0.20 | At £1 | At £5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 spins | £2 | £10 | £50 |
| 50 spins | £10 | £50 | £250 |
| 99 spins | £19.80 | £99 | £495 |
This is the amount you’ll need to stake before any wins. If you set a loss limit below the total, the session stops when it’s reached, not waiting for the whole spin count to end. Use it wisely and choose an appropriate bet amount based on your budget.
