The Autumn horse racing season is almost drawing to a close in the UK and Ireland. Yesterday’s races saw some exciting action in Tipperary, Kelso, and Uttoxeter.

Pontefract
Going: good (turf surface)
Pontefract in West Yorkshire hosts racing throughout the summer. Brown Panther is the most notable horse to have won at Pontefract, who later went on to win the Goodwood Cup, Irish St Leger, and Dubai Gold Cup.
The left-handed has gradients and the course ends in a stiff, uphill finish. This course needs more stamina than speed.

Stratford Racecourse is three and a half miles long and hosts Jumps mostly. The course is sharp and left-handed. The fences here are quite high, which leads to several falls/unseats. It introduced a water jump near the winning post in 2008. The track is favourable to speeding.
