Benfica vs Barcelona: Champions League Analysis, Odds, Stats

The UEFA Champions League enters its last stage on 4 March, as the round of 16 will kick off its leg 1 of 2. On Wednesday, 5 March Portuguese S.L. Benfica will host Spanish Barcelona at their home stadium of Estádio do SL Benfica in Lisbon. The hosts enter the round of 16 after winning the knockout phase play-offs against Monaco, while Barça qualified directly as the second highest ranked team on the league table. The winner of the match will advance to the quarter finals.

The Portuguese club started the league phase in an away match with the Serbian Red Star Belgrade and won 1 – 2, then continued a mixed game of wins and losses until the knockout phase.

Barça had a low start, having lost the first match of the league phase 1 – 2 to Monaco. However, they quickly picked up the pace, winning all the subsequent games and ending one in a draw. As a result, they advanced to the round of 16, bypassing the knockout phase.
