It is run over the distance of 1 mile 1 furlong and 212 yards (2,004 metres).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ffffff;\">The history of the Champions Stakes began at another famous British horse racing venue, the Newmarket Racecourse, where it was inaugurated in 1877.
